MANAGING DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHIES
Fiona Sanderson
Joint Managing Director
With a thorough knowledge of the television and film industry spanning some 20 years, Fiona has had a wide and distinguished career. She has been responsible for producing a number of award winning television programmes for channels such as Discovery and National Geographic. They include titles such as ‘The Rhino War’ and ‘Ivory Wars’, both of which generated considerable publicity and helped change policy.
Prior to working in the documentary field Fiona gained experience in the business and corporate sector producing a range of films for blue-chip companies such as ICL, IBM and Formula One. She has also worked in the challenging area of daily programming when she ran the BBC’s flagship daytime programme ‘Kilroy’, an experience which helped build up a combined strength in editorial decision-making and the ability to operate under deadline pressures.
Apart from documentaries and daily current affairs programming, Fiona also operated in the feature film area, heading up Park Street Finance, a company raising overseas funding for a number of feature films including ‘Dance with a Stranger’, ‘Sour Sweet’ and ‘Best of British’.
From 2002 to 2006 Fiona produced and directed a series of documentaries for a number of broadcasters, including Channel Five and Channel Four. These ranged from ‘Toffs Behind Bars’, examining how some of the rich and famous have fallen from grace, to exclusive access films such as ‘Life and Times of Mary Archer’ and ‘The Hunt for Lord Lucan’. All three programmes were critically acclaimed and received high viewing figures.
